The Akita is not a dog for everyone.

I do not recommend the Akita for a first time dog owner.

Some people say the long coat is a more beautiful Akita than the "regular coat.

They are also said to have great temperaments. There is a big difference in coat lengths in the long coat Akita., some are barely over 2 inch long coats with coarse top coats. Others have very long coats like the Chow Chow . Some coats are like silk. ALL beautiful.

Is a great example of the self mask akita. the mask is the same color of the body. You may also hear the term Red faced Akita -self masked.
